On Education and Learning ...

In light of this interesting chart I thought that I might share a few thoughts from educated folks on the topic ...
"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education." -Albert Einstein

"Everybody who is incapable of learning has taken to teaching." -Oscar Wilde

"No man ever prayed heartily without learning something." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"We do not learn; and what we call learning is only a process of recollection." -Plato

"The only things worth learning are the things you learn after you know it all." -Harry S. Truman
I tend to agree with Einstein's sentiment about education and learning. What do you think?

  1. Bob, I'm all over this one. I think that the way we have set up university education is a scam. We tell everyone they aren't worth a penny without a degree, but then we make this education unbelievably expensive where people leave with giant student loans but few opportunities to make real money. It is like the pyramid where we eliminated the middle class of education. You either have college or you don't. 2 year degrees, vocational training and apprenticeships are worthless. We need to put more value on the middle class of education.
