Modest Swimmer

Kelli has a great post on beachwear. One of the comments on the post pointed to the Wholesome Wear site which displayed the swimsuits pictured here. As I guy that really respects virtuous women I hate to criticize this one but it seems a bit over-the-top on the modesty scale. What do you all think?

  1. Ooooogly. Too conspicuously different, and part of modesty is not being conspicuous.

A nice suit, not too deep in the neckline, covering the middle perhaps (there's an argument: is a bikini ever modest on anybody over five?), not too high-cut on the leg, doesn't seem immodest to me.

Not wearing a bathing suit to go downtown, even in tourist towns, would be modest too.

  2. I didn't know the Amish went to the beach.

  3. It is going too far. But it's only as bad as the other extreme in swimwear. Which I have never successfully persuaded my wife to wear.
