Black Friday Deals

One of the advantages of being older.. note that I did not say "old".. is that gimmicks like Black Friday don't have much appeal. Older folks are, generally speaking, downsizing and getting rid of the junk and not too interested in accumulating more junk.

I did note that, one week ago today, a Best Buy manager gave two iPads to the gals who had set up a tent in anticipation of the great deals today. Wonder if they stayed in line?

Are you heading out or coming home from shopping? Where did you go?

  1. I stayed home just to read you blog today. Haven't even looked at the ads (much). I agree, I have enough stuff already. Anyone need a slightly used slide ruler?

  2. I, too, have more junk than I need. These ads, specials, and etc. have no effect on me. I went to be early last night, got up leisurely this morning and have spent the day reading about the Life of the Apostle Paul.

Let others stampede each other and get up at 3:00 AM to brave the crowds.

  3. I don't do Black Friday shopping. I hope to get others in my family to join my campaign to stop commercialization madness!

  4. Stayed home...Had 24 family and 2 dogs for Thanksgiving so this morning while others were out freezing in lines, I slept in, stayed in my nightgown until noon, and had left over Pecan Pie for breakfast. Does life get any better than that??!! Bob, I love being "older"!!! HaHa

  5. There is NOTHING on sale on Black Friday that is worth it for me to get up at 2AM in order to be at the store at 3AM. I love a good bargain as much as anyone, but I am NOT buying into that insanity!
