Cassel Repatriated to the Chiefs


After putting the franchise tag on Matt Cassel as insurance for Tom Brady the Patriots shipped Cassel and linebacker Mike Vrabel to Kansas City on Saturday. The Chiefs gave up little — I tend to agree with the 82%.

Here's hoping that Cassel will have a front line to protect him.

    Huh? I don't understand the business side of football. The Pats put the franchise tag on Cassel then traded him to KC for a 34th pick in the draft? What am I missing?

    Congrats to the Chiefs. Sounds like you guys got a great deal!

    I don't get it either Brian.. our new GM came from the Patriot organization.. maybe this was an inside deal? I know the Broncos were not happy.
