  2. Cute. :) 'PC' must be getting pretty uncomfortable with 'Mac' closing in on their market share. As of last year, Apple soared to third place behind HP and Dell.

  3. Thanks for the inspiration Scott :)

I think that Mac's are closing in on their PC counterparts because they are getting more like them.. cheaper.. able to run PC software like MS Office.. able to access PC type networks.. embracing an open software architecture.. things that they should have been doing from day one.. things that have made PC's wildly successful.. better late than never. :)

  4. Don't even get me started on the Mac vs. PC argument. I will forever and always be a Mac girl!

My favorites parodies of the Mac commericals are the ones Community Christian Church with a "Christian" vs. "Christ-follower" take. The best one is here.

  6. Stephanie's right. Once you go Mac, you never go back! They are so much easier to use (for all applications, including business) and their operating systems are SO MUCH BETTER than Microsoft crud.

The fact that Microsoft programs in flaws so that you have to update every year - sheesh. Thieves! Actually, it is the PC software that is the problem. Continuous crashing and updates. The only program on my Mac that ever crashes is Microsoft Office. Vista doesn't even work half the time and most computers can't even run it without hardware upgrades. PC's had 114,000 viruses last year, how many did Mac have??? None... I would venture to say PC's days in the sun are over, especially with all the anti-trust suits against Microsoft. PC's may continue to do okay if Linux fills the Microsoft gap.

  7. You may be right Sarah.. according to this website Mac sales soared to a whopping 3.2% of market share at the end of 2007. Maybe PC needs to go leopard to get a piece of that action :)

  8. "embracing an open software architecture.. things that they should have been doing from day one"

    Say what now?

Office has been available for Mac for a while now. Not to mention the fact that Office isn't exactly the best suite out there.

They've been able to access "PC type networks" for some time. Of course Windows is as much at fault for making things like file sharing difficult in the old days.

  9. An interesting perspective Scott on Apple's architecture.. I was thinking that Darwin was the first OS that software developers could use to develop products for the Apple platform.. I think that was around the year 2000.. but I could be wrong? Maybe Apple had a non-proprietary platform earlier than that?

So, why do you think that so much software is designed for MS Windows rather than for Apple?

And why do you think that Apple trailed PC for so very long?

  10. Cost, cost, cost.

...to answer your last two questions.

(Oh, and that Bill Gates is the anti-christ. Kidding!)

  11. Thanks for the feedback Stephanie.

The reason Apples cost more.. historically anyway.. is because Apple married their proprietary hardware to their proprietary software. It is why I say that they have been slow to embrace an open architecture.. other hardware vendors cannot run Apple software.

On the flipside Microsoft focused on software and let other vendors focus on low-cost hardware. It has been a strategy that has delivered lower costs and 95% market share.

  12. I find that most who prefer PCs have little experience with Macs. I didn't know a thing about Macs until my brother-in-law showed me his. Most Mac users are also Mac evangelists! He evangelized me, and I am a proud convert! :) Come over to the Mac side, we have the truth! ;)

  13. Guess I'll come over when a Mac can do something my PC can't do.. of course it will have to be something that I "need" to do :)

  14. Plus, these aren't the Apple computers of the past decade. It's a totally different ballgame now. But, if you like viruses, constant crashing, and OS's that are obsessed with ugly boxy visuals, anti-user friendliness, then by all means...

  15. Something your PC can't do: operate without crashing. :D

  16. No problems with my laptop crashing.. maybe it has just been a while since you owned a PC :)
