Re-Elect No One!

With the recent news from New York City of how Michael Bloomberg is being allowed to run a third time and rumors that some in congress want to get rid of the two term limit on the presidency, I think that this H. L. Mencken quote is more appropriate than ever:
"The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office."
I am generally tired these days of professional politicians who have been in office for most of their lives. We need to find a way to limit their "service" to us.

  2. I loved this comment from Royce over at Preacherman's blog:

"I vote for the most conservative candidates and hold my nose with one hand and my wallet with the other."

  4. I agree with you. I think after a several years in office, they get blinded by the politics and quit hearing the people.

  5. You can say that again! And again and again and again...........

I have lived in Michigan for thirty years. Carl Levin has been sitting in Michigan's seat in the U.S.Senate for every single one of those 30 years. Believe me, I'm more than ready for a change!

  6. Huckabee today suggested term limits for members of Congress that would equal 12 years.

    4 terms for U.S. Representatives
    2 terms for U.S. Senators

I think that is a great idea.

  7. Thx Shane..I always liked Mike :)

However we can however implement term limits the very next time we vote.. just drop our ideology and always vote against the incumbant.. it is really not all that difficult :)
