Resurrecting Downtown KC

Had to share this image from this morning at our new facility in downtown Kansas City. The church is doing well and has almost tripled in attendance since last year at this time. I think that the success is due, in part, to our leader Scott and the way that the church is structured. Instead of requiring that Scott prepare and preach a message each week the church utilizes the weekend teaching of the senior pastor Adam Hamilton (pictured on the screen in the image above). This structure frees Scott's schedule up to connect and engage with people throughout the week. It has created a buzz in the downtown area and I am blessed to be a part of this new expression of worship in downtown Kansas City.

  1. Thanks be to God for the increase number in attendance. It is always an issue today, facing the church. I am happy that your church is doing well.

By the way Bob, I have a very thought-challenging video about Jesus and Christianity that I would like to share with you. It's really a very good video.

    Check this out.

    1. Thanks Clive! I have seen that video and understand the points that he is making. Not everyone gets the message though. Elizabeth takes issues with it here.

  2. The satellite live feed is a wonderful tool for churches now.
It can really impact an area.
We have started the same thing at our church also.
Our service is satelitted to 2 other venues at the same time our service is going on. They each have their own live worship and then the feed is there for the sermon. An additional 500+ people are involved that way. Its amazing.
So happy to hear about the change in the downtown area. Its encouraging.

  3. I forgot to say that we just added another service. One on Sunday night. That makes 9 services each weekend.
    2 on Sat.
3 live on Sunday, 2 satellite remotes, 2 video cafe on Sunday on our campus in a smaller venue (more intimate and not so loud for many) Opps, I guess its 10 because of the evening service which is geared to the Shore (our college and 20 somethings)This service begins next week. They have been meeting on Thurs. nites and average 600. Isn't God good?
