This Sunday I used a Corrie ten Boom quote on worry in my Strength in Weakness message. Got me thinking.. here are a few more quotes on the topic:

"What worries you, masters you." -Haddon W. Robinson

"Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday." -Unknown

"Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy." -Leo Buscaglia

"Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight." -Benjamin Franklin

"If you can't sleep, then get up and do something instead of lying there worrying. It's the worry that gets you, not the lack of sleep." -Dale Carnegie

"For peace of mind, resign as general manager of the universe." -Unknown

"Worry is like a rocking chair -- it keeps you moving but doesn't get you anywhere." -Corrie ten Boom

Feel free to add your own worry quote in the comments.. but don't worry about it if you don't have one :)

  1. Haddon Robinson. Now there's a name from the past. In about 1978 I heard him preach a sermon I remember vividly to this day. He was (is?) a master of public speaking.

  2. You forgot my favorite - "don't worry, be happy".

My wife hates me because I worry about nothing -- kids could be out in a hurricane and I have no problem getting to sleep.
