What RSS reader will you use in July?

My guess is that most of you know that Google's RSS reader is going away as of July 1st. I currently use it to keep up with many blogs and news feeds. I will really miss it and wish that Google was not killing it.

Guess I am not happy with the alternatives. Do not care for the "magazine" formats of Feedly and the like. Do not want to go back to Bloglines. I think that Blogger itself is pretty limited with regard to aggregating feeds.

So I am wondering what you plan to use. Please tell me what reader you are using and what you like about it. I am interested more in why (not just what) you like.

  1. I am not happy that they are closing the reader, either. It is easy to use, keeps the blogs I like to read on line. I guess I'll use Feedly. I haven't used it much yet, but is there another one out there?

  3. I have decided to use Feedly. I have been using both for a few months now. The magazine style that you mention can me changed at the top of your page on Feedly. I do like that I can read the post before I actually go to it. You can't do that on Bloglovin but nothing is wrong with Bloglovin except posts take longer to appear there than they do on Feedly. Feedly, as you work with it, is the closest thing to Reader.

  4. I've been using Feedly, too. I really liked just using the Blogger dashboard, but for some reason, I can't add more than 300 blogs to it and so I've had to go to something else. Like Debby said, if you change the format, it looks a lot like I remember Google Reader being, although I rarely used that.

  5. So far it seems that Feedly is the winner - I have been using it on and off since the GR announcement was made. I think that they have listened and made some nice changes.

I tried NewsBlur and was put on a waiting list for the free version.

And there is a new reader coming on June 26th from Digg. You can read about it at http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/17/digg-rss-reader-june-26/

    1. My computer went bonkers recently and I suspect Feedly for some reason, don't really know why, but I got rid of it. Anyone else?

    3. I did put Feedly back on ,the cloud version this time. My son and I had to do a factory restore of my laptop, so I don't know what went wrong, but it's a fresh start:)
