Bagel and Cream Cheese

My morning Einstein Brothers' poppyseed bagel and strawberry cream cheese critiqued by DietFacts.com:

I wonder if I should switch to something else?
Biscuits and Gravy is looking pretty good these days :)
What do you eat for breakfast?

  1. Since I'm not a big breakfast person... besides my coffee...

A cup of coffee when I wake up
A sandwich bag of Cheerios (during my drive to work)
A cup of coffee when I get to work
(Sometimes I'm good and bring a banana, too!)

  2. Dude! Solid, whole wheat, raw milk kefir fermented scones with real butter.

Eat 2 of those, and I guarantee you are good until lunch. The calories are all good!

  3. But what about the fat content CP?

You know I am all about low fat :)

  4. Hey Bob. Thanks for visiting my website, DietFacts.com, and mentioning it in your blog. :))

I really enjoy a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. (Our office mascot --a parrot-- enjoys the oatmeal, too!) We have a lot of fresh and dehydrated fruit around (for the bird), so it's tasty to stir into the oatmeal some dried apples, raisins, bananas, and berries. Yogurt tastes pretty good on oatmeal, too.

I like to keep bananas, blackberries, and blueberries in my freezer -- makes everyday feel like Farmer's Market day. They seem to last forever in their frozen state.

When I'm too lazy to cook, I grab some Grape Nuts, Kashi Go Lean, Shredded Wheat, or Fiber One cereal and lots of skim milk. Topped with bananas or berries, of course.

Both of these meals are quite filling because of the fiber, low in fat, and provide foods from 3 different food groups.

  5. I am NOT about fat content. I'm about fat quality.

If the fat's been killed, then keep it away from me. Pasteurized and homogenized are swear words around my place. Hydrogenated is a fighting word, and soy is grounds for division between dinner plates. If we've been eating it for 6,000 years, I'm all over it. If they just invented it at the start of the industrial age, I'll leave it for industrial equipment.

Give me real butter, real whole milk, and real whole wheat, and I'll take whatever weight it gives me.
