Being not Going

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you an automobile. -Billy Sunday

It is common for those that are farthest from God, to boast themselves most of their being near to the Church. -Matthew Henry

True faith in God that demands selflessness is being replaced by trendy religion that serves the selfish. -Billy Graham

We must not reduce the bosom of the universal church to a nest protecting our mediocrity. -Pope Francis

  1. I agree. I haven't attended church for about six years now yet I believe my relationship with God is better than ever!

  2. I'm with Debby on this one. I prefer bible study group, prayer, and real in-depth study of the Scriptures. One hour a week on Sunday sitting on our blessed assurance cannot compare with studying the Word every day.

  3. If you want to get closer to God, be the only person in the room. Less distraction, more interaction.

  4. I love my Church but I want my relationship with my Lord and Savior to be so much more than just "attending" church. I strive for that on many levels and thankfully belong to a Body of Believers who truly live love beyond the church sanctuary and service.

  5. I love going to church and fellowship with the other believers. I also treasure my time with the Lord at my kitchen table!

  6. Love the comments here. Suspect that we can both be and go as long as the place we go to inspires us to be. :)
