Happiness follows Contentment

Not sure if it is God or just serendipity that has brought two happiness related images my way this week. I so struggle with being content these days. Difficult to be content with health related limitations. The doc took me off anti-inflammation meds a few weeks ago and I have struggled with pain in my wrists and ankles where I have bone-on-bone issues. Even so, I do understand the challenge to rise above my pain be content in this season of my life. And perhaps challenge is the best word to describe it? Maybe my struggle is not so much with the pain but more about my expectations of happiness that are not connected with being content where I am. So today I will try to focus on being content and see where that takes me. Can you relate?

    1. I agree with that Linda. But I do seem to get it more today than when I was younger. :)

  2. "The young and the restless" should read "the young are the restless." It takes maturity to grasp the value of stillness and the contentment to be derived from the appreciation of life itself. With you and Linda, yes, there are some unpleasant things. Praise God, anyway!

    1. I agree vanilla. I continue to learn the importance of praising God in all things.

  3. I am content and happy mostly. Every once in awhile I get grumpy about the day to day pain but then I just praise Him and think of those who are worse off than I!

  4. I am right there with you Bob. I am finding a hard time being content and happy. We still have no answers as to why I've been sick and I'm just frustrated. Sorry your not feeling well.

    1. I can relate to that kind of frustration Debby. Health issues have to be the most difficult. Ann's disability has probably stretched me more than anything else. Prayers for your healing.
