Are You a Dog or Cat Person?

This funny Shoebox cartoon got me thinking about my two dearly departed cats.. especially Davin.. the grey cat. Davin was a bit fearless - one day he was sitting on a log in our backyard and a large Labrador Retriever came charging across the yard towards him.. Davin did not move an inch. The Lab got a few inches from Davin and started growling at him.. Davin took a swipe at the Lab's nose and the dog quickly retreated.. it was pretty funny to see.

All that said I have to say that I am a dog person. How about you?

  1. I am a cat person through and through, I'm just allergic to them. I remember a cat I had growing up, Stimpy. He was just like your cat and would fearlessly and unflinchingly stand up to the dogs. One day, while in this posture, the bull dog grabbed stimpy by the ear and drug him across the kitchen floor, tearing his ear. To the Vets surprise, he didn't have to use any pain medicine while sewing him up. This cat was a stud. But then he had to wear a head bandage and footies and he looked hilarious. Stimpy was so macho that he would lay down at the food bowl and paw the food onto the floor and into his mouth. That is how he died.

  2. I'm an animal lover, but right now dogs don't fit with our lives. It's easier to take a few days away when you've got cats. Dogs must be brought along with you or boarded somewhere. With a cat, put down a bowl of food, change the litter box, flush the john, and all is well.

  3. The drawings are just too cute!!! I love both, but several of our grandchildren are allergic to cats....so we had to find homes for the cats. We now have a little Shih Tzu named Molly that rules the roost.

  4. We have our grown up teenagers two cats, a mom and son, Shady and Mittens. Mittens has six toes which makes a paw that can know you down. For all the hair and scratching they provide a lot of affection and joy to us.
