The War and The Economy

An interesting brief interview with Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz who has recently authored The Three Trillion Dollar War: The True Cost of the US Invasion and Occupation of Iraq. The national deficit and current financial crisis seem to be tied back to this presidential blunder.. enough to make a Democrat of me.. maybe :)

  1. Very interesting interview, Bob. Thanks for sharing that. I think he made a lot of valid points.

  2. The interview I saw in MSNBC this morning was an even stronger one. The aftermath for our wounded soldiers is not only costly but heartbreaking as well.

One a happier note - my wounded (PTSD) son returns home today from his 4.5 years of US Army service to our country which included 2 front-line combat tours of Iraq. More to come on that!

  3. Wow. I lost track of the days, Bob. Your son comes home today! I'm happy for you (and for him).

War is hell. That's no exaggeration, IMO. I have so much respect for people like your son. But, I'm sickened by the fact we haven't evolved past the idea of war. I long for the day when man gets past the idea of deliberately try to blow each other to bits.

    Peace,
    Brian

  4. I haven't listened to all the interview yet, but I just saw your comment about your son! Great news, KB! I pray he STAYS home and for a miraculous transition and peace that overcomes the PTSD.
